The Habitat Hive
Designed as a bee-centric, “hands off’ hive for honey bees.
The hive is both species appropriate and “hands off”(which the bees deeply appreciate
Provides a more natural home for bees: The round interior space enables the bees to better manage the temperature inside the hive: No corners mean no cold space. Bees are free to construct comb anyway they choose. This enables that airflow through the hive is “as needed” for each and every colony.
Very Well Insulated: bees need enough insulation so that hive interiors are not subject to wild outside temperature swings. Conventional bee boxes make bees work constantly to even out temperature in the hive. Why is a consistent, warm temp important? Larval bees exposed to temps that vary more than a few degrees hatch out weakened for life.
Mimics a log hive which is the natural home for honey bees
